Bachelorette and Bachelor Party Buses

The party bus for a stag or stagette is a great way to have transportation for the day, or night.

The Bachelor or Bachelorette party bus is usually for a larger group, then the cost becomes very reasonable when you split it up among all the party members. There are a large range of sizes, types and amenities you can look for when renting a bus. I highly recommend a bus when you are planning to go to several different places throughout the night or day. Taking cabs to and from each location will not be cheap and you’ll have to take several cabs at the same time if your group is any larger then about 6 people. Most cabs can only carry 4 people, unless you find a van cab, which are rare in some areas, then you can carry a whopping 7 people at the most. What do you do when you have a bachelor or bachelorette party of 20 people? You’ll need 3 cabs , to and from each location…. Bring your visa.

Seriously though, why not get a bus, rent it for the day. A common yellow bus rental is probably the cheapest route you can take. Expect to pay between $300 and $500 for 12 hours of door to door service, and if you split that between 20 people, it’s about $20 each. You can’t take cabs all over for that price.

Now, as the level of “niceness” and quality of a party bus goes up, so does the price. So depending on your budget and number of bachelor or bachelorette party guests, you will have a variety of party buses to choose from. You can get party buses and limousines that range in size from 10 passengers, up to 57 for a full size coach.

For a medium sized group, I would recommend a 24 passenger type bus. A decent luxury tour bus ( comes equipped with a dancing pole too ) ranges from $150 to $250 an hour. These party buses are usually catered to the bachelor and/or bachelorette party and can be stocked with a full bar too. They also come with a great stereo system, ice chest full of ice, cool lighting, mp3 player and even big screen video. Almost all of these type of limo style party buses have fully tinted windows for full privacy… if you hire someone to demonstrate how the dancing pole is to be used.

You have to figure out your travel costs and if a bus will suit your needs. Also, if you are going to just tour around the city and party in the bus, then you will want extra room and one of the more limousine style buses. For a group of 25, you will need a 30+ passenger bus. You do not want to crammed in there either, give yourself some room.

Non Traditional Bachelorette and Bachelor Parties

More and more men and women are moving away from "traditional" bachelor and bachelorette parties with strippers and massive amounts of beer. This may be a sign of changing attitudes, or a reflection of the average age of people getting married is a lot older now, either way, it's time to consider other, more creative and non traditional bachelor and bachelorette parties.

First and for most is to find out what the groom and bride-to-be interests and hobbies are, then use that to base your ideas on. Here are some of the great alternative and creative ideas to help you decide on your stag or stagette event. Note, that some of these are geared towards either the male or female group, but many can be one or the other.

The Amusement Park Bachelor Party

This is where you can go to be a kid again. Get day passes for a local, or further away, amusement park. If you go to a far one, spend a night at a hotel too. Take in all the huge rollercoaster’s, rides and eat greasy food all day. Follow that up with a night out at a pub or local restaurant for more food and drink. If you find one with a large go-kart track too, then you can have competitions and races. Use the track times to compete for prizes, or the losers of each race have to a liquor shot ( later that evening, not while you are racing go-karts ).

The Outdoor Bachelorette or Bachelor Party

This type of stagette or stag party can be a lot of different things. You can go camping for a day, or weekend. If it is not warm enough for that, you can take a weekend ski trip, get on one of the weekend ski tours and not have to worry about driving either, let the bus driver do that for you. Then you can party all weekend instead of just one day. You can also do an extreme event weekend and do some white water rafting, hiking, sky diving, bungee jumping, etc.

Alternative Night Out Parties

The traditional night out bachelor or bachelorette party usually involved a couple night clubs or strip clubs and lots of drink. Instead, go out to a comedy club, or dinner theater. You can also go out to a bar, but instead of drinking the drinks, take a bar tending class there. A non-traditional type of night out could also be a beer or wine tasting night at local brewery or vineyard. Combine that with a great, catered dinner too.

The Really Different Bachelor Party

Get out and build something…. What I mean here is volunteer as a group on a weekend to help build a house for habitat for humanity, or something similar. This would be great for someone who already volunteers and for a group of guys, or girls that would really enjoy helping others in this way. There are a lot of other similar type of activities you can do like this too.

Stag and Bachelor Party Ideas and Themes

Have you been out to the bar and actually noticed if a stag party was there? You might if the groom had a crazy outfit on and were being obviously loud. What about the other ones that look just like a regular group of guys feeding beer to just one of the group? I bet you don’t notice it… but you do notice the bachelor party that shows up to the club or bar all wearing toga’s , or pimp outfits… That is a memorable outing. Lets see what you can do as a bachelor party theme to make your party a great, memorable and fun experience and not just a drinking competition to see how long the groom can last before he passes out.

Sports Fanatic Bachelor Party Theme

This is for the guys that are into sports, any spectator sport really. If the groom enjoys this type of thing, you can get everyone the big foam fingers, beer hats, jerseys and uniforms. You can go out like a sports team , then the groom can be the coach or captain.

The Spartan Stag Party Theme

This theme involves a little more of a budget for the costumes, but it is a simple one. You can rent Spartan type costumes and go out like your going to war. Get the face paint on , etc. Just watch carrying any real weapons, the last thing that you want to happen is get put in jail for the night, or longer. If you are renting uniforms from a costume store, make sure that you can get extra insurance on each one of them. There is always someone that rips one, or spills drinks on them. If you have insurance coverage from the rental place then you won’t have to worry as much about having to pay for the costumes after the fact.

Pirate Bachelor Part Theme

The same information applies to the costumes for this stag party theme, rent them , and make sure you have the insurance. You can also be a little more creative with this party theme and make your own outfits. You can hit up a local thrift store and get some old cloths for really cheap and turn them into pirate outfits. The cool thing about this theme is that you have to talk like Pirates for the entire evening, and after a few drinks it seems to come naturally to some people. Or so they think it does.

The Pimped Out Bachelor Party Theme

This is one of my favorites, get all dressed up in pimp outfits, really crazy, extravagant coats. The cane, hat, big sun glasses and all.

There are a lot of variations you can pull off for a themed stag party, but I hope this gives you an idea of where to start.

Great Stagette and Bachelorette Party themes

Every great stagette that you have probably heard about has probably had a theme to it. I mean, that you don’t usually hear too much about a bachelorette party that was just a bunch of girls getting together for drinks, a dinner and bit of fun. You usually hear about the wild and cool themed parties for years after they happened, why, because they were cool, different and the theme really made it stand out among the rest.

Leather and Lace Bachelorette Party Theme

The Leather and Lace party is a great theme, one of my favorites, stagette party or not actually… I won’t get into that here. First, you will have to decide if this is an appropriate theme, depending on the wedding party, parents, relatives, etc… you might re-consider the leather and lace stagette theme. The idea behind this one is fairly simple, yet, sometimes difficult to pull off. You should visit a local adult shop, you can get some ideas, but the clothing there might be a little risqué for a public outing. I would arrange the costumes well in advance, this is not something you can just throw together ( well, maybe you can ). A great place for the outfits would be a costume or Halloween store.

The Glamour and Glitz Stagette Party Theme

This is cool, girly one. The glamour and glitz bachelorette theme is a more universal theme and you don’t have to worry about the risqué stuff. You can have everything sparkly and make your own outfits quite simply. You can go to any thrift store, hobby shop or similar store and get beads, sparkles, glitter, etc.

A Black and White Bachelorette Party Theme

Yet another great party theme, you dress the bride-to-be in all white, or all black… preferably white… Then the rest of the bachelorette party dresses in black ( or white , whatever is opposite to the bride-to-be ). This is a simple and easy theme to pull off. Your group will easily stand out and you can easily pick out the bride too. This also makes it very easy to supply the group with a common t-shirt or outfit.

Slumber Party Bachelorette Party Theme

This is more of a bachelorette party idea then a theme, but it still applies. Bake some great deserts and cakes, get out the old footloose movie and chick flicks. Reminisce about the old days and fun times. Make sure you have everyone bring their jammies and sleeping bags.

A Spa Day Stagette Party Theme

Again, you can consider this a theme or a location based bachelorette party, but I still like it as a theme. I mean that you can get everyone big fluffy robes, premium chocolates, teas and coffees. Then spend the day getting pampered. This is also the perfect option if the bride isn’t much of a partier. Many spas can accommodate groups of eight or more and even help you plan your festivities

There are a lot more ideas you can do, such as pole dancing lessons, cooking classes, psychic readings, sex toy bachelorette pary or belly dancing lessons. Those are some of the more unique ideas. Then again, you can always do what the guys do on their bachelor parties and get stupid drunk and watch some strippers.

Bachelorette Parties and Bachelor Party Ideas

Stag Parties | Stagette | Bachelor | Bachelorette | Themes | Ideas

Here are some of the best Bachelor and Bachelorette party ideas to get you started. But it won't stop just there, you'll be able to plan the night he or she and the wedding party will never forget.

So, where do you begin? Start with what you know, then work from that. If you have been to 1 or more bachelor parties then you will have a head start. If you are trying to plan a great party without having been to an bachelor or bachelorette party, then we have a little work to do.

Bachelor Parties

Lets have a look at what the Bachelor Party usually consists of. One of the first thing that comes to most men is that of Strippers and Strip clubs. Ok, no problem. You will always get at least one or more guys in the group that insist there be at least one naked woman involved throughout the night. You'd be lucky if you didn't. You are the organizer and you know your best buddy, brother, or whoever the groom might be to you, the best. So, you will know what will make him have a great night or weekend. Do not let the one voice be the deciding factor.

First thing you should probably do is actually talk to the groom, he knows your going to throw the stag party, so get his input. Don't tell him what your doing, just ask him what he thinks would be a good time. Determine who to invite too, this will be crucial if you are inviting the in-laws and parents to be. Depending on the family, you might have to consider them too. Start with what he likes. If he likes the strippers, great, go to 4 different clubs. Have stuff pre-arranged with each club ahead of time. You have several choices here, you can go to a strip club, or have the strippers come to you. The bachelor is the one you are arranging the party for, the rest of the attendees are just that, attendees. Cater to the groom and what he likes, everyone else will follow. If you decide to go to the strip club, then make sure you are prepared with lots of singles for tips, small bills and cash for the "special" dances for the bachelor, etc. Another thing you might want to look into is the soon-to-be wife's opinion. There is nothing worse then having your buddy's wife hold a grudge against you for arranging a bachelor party that was inappropriate by her standards. It is your call if you want to tell her or not, but my advice is to at least get a good idea that she is ok with your plans first. You do not have to be detailed, just let her know you plan to hit a strip club at some point that night.

Before you really get into the more exotic and non-traditional bachelor parties, you need to set your budget. Make sure that everyone attending will be able to afford it. Consider the extra cost from everyone to pay for all the grooms expenses too. One of the best ideas is that you collect all the money ahead of time to cover all your cab far, door cover, food and basic drinks. Then anything else can be covered on their own as they choose. But make sure you have enough to cover all the costs first.

Ok, there are far more to a bachelor party then naked women ( some of you may not think so, but there is ). I recommend that you partake in a variety of activities and make it a full day, night or even a full weekend. If you are limited to just the evening, start out at a pub/bar/restaurant for a big meal. Make sure that you arrange with the restaurant or bar ahead of time, you can either get a great deal and a private room, or they won't even want your business and not let you in the door. So make sure that they know it is a stag party first. If you get any resistance, let them know that your group will likely be ordering many alcoholic beverages, restaurants and bars make a good profit from alcohol sales and that may tip the scale in your favor. They may also offer you cheaper food too. Another great activity to do in-between, before or after is a private poker game or tournament. If you have enough people, you can also arrange a semi-public poker tournament at your local casino. With a minimal service charge, they will take care of the pot, dealers and more. You can then take advantage of the facilities of the casino as well.

Lets also look at some other activities you can do on your bachelor party day or weekend. Organize a sports tournament. Get team colors and shirts made, etc. You can also book local fields and stadiums if they are not in use for a fairly low rate and have use of the scoreboards, etc. Organize a pub crawl to follow up the big game too. Pick a sport that either the groom plays or really enjoys to watch.

Some other great bachelor party ideas involve a longer event or weekend. Go camping, do some sky-diving, bungee jumping, climbing and hiking, whitewater rafting, wake boarding, skiing, snowboarding, hunting, fishing and dirt biking. At the end of your activity day, sit around a big camp fire with a big cooler full of beer and drinks.

Need meat? If steak is your bachelor's favorite meal, then make it a great one and take him to one of the best steakhouses you can find. Splurge on the best.

The Big Vegas Bachelor Party.

Ok, here is the deal about Vegas... bring your wallet, borrow a friends wallet too if you can. Nothing I have ever done in Vegas has been on the low-budget end of things. You will need a group of friends and buddies that can all afford the weekend Vegas trip for the stag party. Get that cleared up first. If it is a go, great, there is lots to do there. Vegas is America's playground. Again, when it comes to Vegas, get the bride's full approval ahead of any planning. Plan this one well ahead of time if you can. You will need to get a little help when it comes to Vegas's premier clubs, get a party planner and hire a bachelor party organizer. Vegas has a lot of them, so they will be easy to find.... I should have a link or to on my blog at the top. If you try to look as sharp as you can and brave the line up at the hot clubs... be warned, if you have never been in that scene before then you are in for a surprise. Getting into those clubs is almost impossible unless your "on the list" or have someone like a local planner set it up for you. I've been there before with a group of guys... we left but they stayed in line, expecting to get in... well, they stood at the front of the line, behind the velvet ropes for 4 hours while the bouncers picked people out of the crowd that they thought should go in... they were all hot, young women in wild outfits. In the end, they never got in and left. Meanwhile, we had a great time on the strip. ;) . Limos in Vegas are actually cheap and very, very common, so take them if you have a group of 5 or more. Leave your cameras at home, for 1 you won't get into the strip clubs there with one and the last thing you need is a "bad" picture coming back to haunt the groom later on.

Once your have your location and activities set, figure out your budget. Make sure it falls into the range you set at the start and then let everyone know what the costs will be ahead of time. Let them all know to have x amount of cash to you ( or someone else ) for all the cabs, covers, etc.

Co-ed Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

This is another great opportunity to do something different. If the groom is not into the stripper stuff and you think that both the bride and groom would prefer a combined party, then do it. This will be known when you talk to the groom first, bring it up, see what says. Ask the bride too, she what she thinks. Then you can plan a bigger party and have help from the maid of honor. Virtually all the activities you can do with just the guys can be done as a co-ed group. You will have to see what the bride likes too and go from there.

Bachelorette Parties

Not only does the best man have to plan a great party, so does the maid of honor. A bachelorette party, or also known as hen party or staggette, also has the same level of planning and budgeting too. All the same activities apply, but not all will be of the same priority.

Again, feedback from the bride will be key in planning the greatest bachelorette party you can your friends have seen. There is the same stripper / exotic dancer theme too, although the strip clubs will be less common. You will likely have to hire one to come to you. Rent a hall or use someones house that is adequate for the group. Have the dancer come to the bachelorette party as a theme or special outfit that the bride would go crazy over.

A popular staggette party is a home party with great food, snacks, etc. Get your drink on or even hire a bartender for the evening who can make you all sorts of wild and great beverages. Is the bride an outdoor person? If so, your options expand to the similar camping trips I mentioned for the bachelor parties. Go biking, hiking, climbing, etc.

Another great adventure would be a shopping weekend. Vegas is a great place to shop too. So if you decide on a co-ed bachelor and bachelorette party, you could do Vegas, everyone is there and you can also split up for an evening and do the separate parties too. You get both this way and a great, fun weekend.

Most of the same guidelines apply to a bachelorette party as they do to a bachelor party. A party planner is a great way to use the experience of a planner and get a great party too.

All in all, I hope I can help you cover all your basics about bachelorette and bachelor parties. You'll need to start somewhere and a lot of your decisions will be based on what you have available in your local area. Good luck with the party.

Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties 101

This blog is for everything Bachelor, Bacheloretter, Hen , Stag, Stagette, or whatever you want to call it, parties. I am going to cover all sorts of stuff from the party bus you need, the party themes you can go as, bachelor party ideas you never thought of, the all famous vegas party, games, gifts and gags. It will be fun.

I've been to many Stags in the past, and I have one coming up in a few weeks too. I will be posting the plan and the updates from that party. I've also been to a few lame bachelor parties as well, so i will have to cover the don't do's as well. I think I will have to start off with the what you can and should do for a stag party, then well see what you should not do for both a bachelor party and a bachelorette party. I can't leave the girls out, they are the reason ( or excuse ) you are reading this right now anyways.

If you have any suggestions, comments or anything related, please post a comment or send me an email. You can contact me at contact.franklin99 @ gmail.com

I am thinking my first topic of the up coming post will have to cover the party bus. You need transportation and that is probably one of the first things you will want to arrange.

stay tuned for the full post soon.
